Drama at Wike’s Gate: VeryDarkMan Stages Alphabet Protest Over Teachers’ Strike in Abuja

In a bold and theatrical display of activism, controversial social media figure VeryDarkMan (VDM) on Sunday staged an unconventional protest at the residence gate of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister, Nyesom Wike, in Abuja — spotlighting the ongoing teachers’ strike that has crippled primary education across parts of the country.

According to a post on Nigerian Stories’ official X (formerly Twitter) handle, the social commentator gathered a group of schoolchildren, all dressed in their uniforms, and held a symbolic outdoor class right in front of the minister’s gate. The act was part protest, part performance — but wholly provocative.

With a makeshift classroom setup, VDM proceeded to teach the visibly excited children letters of the alphabet in a politically charged manner. In a viral moment, he shouted:

“T for Tinubu! W for Wike!”
as the children chorused back in unison.

The alphabet drill, seemingly playful, carried a strong message — a criticism of both President Bola Tinubu and Minister Wike over the government’s failure to resolve the issues leading to the prolonged strike action.

The protest, though unconventional, has sparked massive debate across social media platforms, with many Nigerians praising the creativity while others raised concerns over the involvement of children in political demonstrations.

VeryDarkMan has become known for his confrontational advocacy style, often using shock value and street-level dramatics to highlight pressing societal issues. His latest protest adds fuel to growing public frustration over the deteriorating state of education in the country, especially in the nation’s capital.

As the strike lingers, this dramatic protest may further pressure the FCT administration to take swift and decisive action — or brace for more unconventional protests from a restless and watchful public.
