In a shocking development, the Kano State Police Command has confirmed a powerful explosion at the Yongxing Steel Company located along Ring Road in the Mariri Quarters of Kano metropolis.
The disturbing incident was disclosed via the official X (formerly Twitter) handle of Nigerian Stories, sending waves of concern across the state and beyond.
According to a statement from the company’s Marketing Manager, Mr. Ibrahim Udazu, the blast erupted within the factory premises and resulted in multiple injuries among the workers.
“We are still assessing the full extent of the damage, but several of our staff sustained serious injuries,” Udazu stated, visibly shaken by the development.
Emergency responders and security operatives have since cordoned off the area as investigations commence into the cause of the explosion, which has raised fears of industrial safety negligence or possible sabotage.
As of press time, there has been no official casualty figure, but eyewitnesses report scenes of chaos as victims were rushed to nearby hospitals for urgent medical attention.
