Horror in Kano: 18-Year-Old Housewife Arrested for Slitting Husband’s Throat in Midnight Bloodbath

In a chilling case that has shocked residents of Kano State, the Police Command has arrested an 18-year-old housewife, Saidat Jibril, for allegedly murdering her 30-year-old husband, Salisu Idris, by slitting his throat during a violent domestic dispute.

The gruesome incident occurred around 12:35 a.m. on Monday, May 6, 2025, at the couple’s residence in Farawa Quarters, plunging the neighborhood into fear and disbelief.

Confirming the arrest in a statement on Tuesday, the Command’s Public Relations Officer, SP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa, revealed that the Commissioner of Police, CP Ibrahim Adamu Bakori, PhD, immediately deployed a crack team of detectives to the scene following a distress report.

“Upon receiving the report, the Commissioner of Police ordered swift action. Officers arrived at the residence where they found the victim in a pool of blood, his throat reportedly slit with a sharp object during a domestic altercation,” Kiyawa said.

The victim was rushed to the Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital, but was tragically declared dead by medical personnel shortly after arrival.

Preliminary investigations suggest the fatal attack stemmed from a heated argument that spiraled into violence. The suspect, Saidat, is alleged to have grabbed a knife during the scuffle and inflicted the deadly wound.

She is currently being held at the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), Homicide Section, where she remains in custody as investigations continue. Police say she will soon be charged to court for culpable homicide.

CP Bakori has reiterated the Command’s zero tolerance for domestic violence and other criminal acts, vowing that justice will be served. He assured the public of a thorough and transparent investigation into the matter.

The police also urged the public to be vigilant, avoid escalation of domestic conflicts, and promptly report suspicious activities to the nearest police station or through the Command’s emergency hotlines.
