The daughter of ABC Transport founder, Frank Nneji, has cried out after being declared wanted by the Nigeria Police Force without prior invitation or formal notice.
Ihuoma Julia Nneji, a 34-year-old entrepreneur, was stunned to discover her name and photograph published in a Special Police Gazette Bulletin issued by the Nigeria Police Force National Cybercrime Centre (NPF-NCCC) in Abuja. She is accused of criminal defamation, injurious falsehood, and cyberstalking — allegations she has vehemently denied, describing them as the fallout of a bitter personal vendetta orchestrated by her former fiancé, Henry Uzochukwu.
In a detailed statement released over the weekend, Nneji narrated her shock and dismay upon learning she had been declared wanted without ever being invited for questioning, informed of any complaint, or served any formal notification.
“I was never invited, questioned, or informed about any complaint,” she said. “To wake up and see my name plastered on a wanted list without due process was not only humiliating but profoundly unjust.”
From Romance to Ruin: The Genesis of a Scandal
Recounting her ordeal, Nneji explained that she met Uzochukwu in April 2024, and their relationship swiftly blossomed into wedding plans set for November. However, those plans were abruptly derailed in August after Nneji made what she called “disturbing discoveries” about her fiancé’s private life.
> “This entire conflict erupted because I chose integrity over deception,” she stated. “I found credible evidence suggesting Henry was engaged in relationships with men. With such serious issues unresolved, I could not, in good conscience, proceed with marriage.”
Her findings, she said, painted a disturbing pattern of Uzochukwu’s previous engagements mysteriously ending just days before weddings, all linked to similar concerns.
> “The woman he was set to marry before me called off their wedding just a week prior, over the very same issue,” she alleged.
Following the breakup, Nneji claims she became the target of sustained harassment, threats, and an orchestrated smear campaign led by Uzochukwu.
> “Since calling off the wedding, Henry has relentlessly harassed and falsely accused me,” she said. “He alleged, without evidence, that I operated an Instagram page spreading malicious rumours about him. These claims are speculative, malicious, and outright false.”
Insisting on her innocence, Nneji declared she has never defamed or cyberstalked anyone, either on her verified social media pages or through any other channel.
“I have always conducted myself with the utmost integrity. I am not the villain here. I am the victim of an elaborate scheme to punish me for choosing truth over deception,” she said.
Calling on the Nigeria Police Force to uphold justice and fairness, she appealed:
> “I urge the authorities to conduct a thorough and unbiased investigation. Listen to my side of the story before reaching any conclusions.”
SaharaReporters had earlier reported that the police formally declared Nneji wanted over alleged cybercrimes. The NPF-NCCC bulletin accused her of masterminding a “coordinated cyberbullying and blackmail campaign” between August and September 2024, allegedly targeting a high-profile Abuja-based businessman.
The matter caught wildfire on social media after controversial influencer Martins Vincent Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan (VDM), intervened. In a viral video posted on September 24, VDM issued a fiery 24-hour ultimatum to Nneji, demanding she retract alleged defamatory posts or face public exposure.
> “You have 24 hours to take down the defamatory content and tender an apology,” VDM thundered. “Failing that, I will unleash every piece of evidence to expose the truth.”
Meanwhile, police authorities have called on anyone with relevant information regarding Nneji’s whereabouts to contact the nearest police station or report directly to the National Cybercrime Centre in Abuja.
As the saga unfolds, Nigerians watch with bated breath as a personal heartbreak threatens to snowball into a full-blown legal and reputational battle between two former lovers — with the powerful lens of public scrutiny now firmly focused.
