Terror at the Camp: Police Nab Three Suspects Over Grisly Boys Brigade Attack in Abuja

In a chilling turn of events, the Federal Capital Territory Police Command has arrested three suspects in connection with a brutal nighttime assault on a Boys Brigade camp in Zhayidna Village, Orozo, Abuja — an attack that left one teenage camper dead and sent shockwaves through the community.

The slain camper, identified as Johnson John, reportedly lost his life during the unprovoked attack on the peaceful gathering of youths. His death sparked outrage and an immediate manhunt by security operatives determined to bring the culprits to justice.

Following a trail of digital footprints, particularly the tracking of the deceased’s mobile phones, a tactical team led by CSP Mbang Usang, Divisional Police Officer of Karshi, stormed Wasa Village and successfully apprehended the alleged perpetrators.

FCT Police spokesperson, SP Josephine Adeh, confirmed the arrests, naming the suspects as Stanley Ukweze, Dauda Yohana, and Gemu Adamu. During the raid, operatives recovered three mobile phones, two of which belonged to the deceased, providing crucial evidence in the ongoing investigation.

In a statement issued on Tuesday, the FCT Commissioner of Police, CP Ajao S. Adewale, assured residents that the Command is leaving no stone unturned in its pursuit of justice. He vowed that the suspects would be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law once investigations are concluded.

“The Command remains resolute in unearthing the full circumstances surrounding this heinous crime. We urge residents to stay vigilant and report any suspicious activity via our emergency lines,” the statement read.

Authorities also lauded the cooperation of local residents and community leaders, whose timely intelligence significantly aided the breakthrough.

As the investigation continues, the FCT Police Command has pledged to keep the public informed of developments, while reinforcing its commitment to safeguarding all citizens, especially the youth.
