“Buhari Killed Nigeria, Tinubu Came to Bury It – Sowore Blasts APC Leadership”

Human rights activist and presidential candidate of the African Action Congress (AAC), Omoyele Sowore, has once again lashed out at the current administration, declaring that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s regime is the final nail in the coffin of a country already “murdered” by former President Muhammadu Buhari.

In a fiery statement that has since gone viral on social media, Sowore lamented the deepening socio-economic crisis under Tinubu, accusing him of capitalizing on the chaos and destruction left behind by his predecessor to further plunge the nation into suffering and despair.

“Buhari killed Nigeria, but Tinubu came to bury it,” Sowore said. “After eight years of incompetence, lawlessness, and brutality under Buhari, Nigerians hoped for a flicker of relief. Instead, they got a gravedigger.”

The outspoken activist decried the relentless hardship Nigerians face today—from skyrocketing inflation and food insecurity to widespread unemployment and insecurity. According to him, Tinubu’s so-called “Renewed Hope” agenda is nothing more than a cruel joke played on a populace already on the edge.

“Under Buhari, Nigerians were gasping for air. Under Tinubu, they are being suffocated. He came with empty promises but has delivered pain, hunger, and hopelessness,” Sowore added.

The publisher of Sahara Reporters further accused the Tinubu-led All Progressives Congress (APC) of institutionalizing corruption and using propaganda to mask its failures. He insisted that Nigeria is being held hostage by a ruling elite determined to loot the nation dry, while the masses are left to wrestle with starvation, joblessness, and insecurity.

“Buhari was a disaster, but at least we knew he was clueless. Tinubu, on the other hand, is calculated, cold, and complicit. He is finishing what Buhari started—only faster, and with ruthless precision,” Sowore said.

He also criticized Tinubu’s economic policies, particularly the removal of fuel subsidies and the floating of the naira, which he said have had catastrophic consequences on ordinary Nigerians. “These policies were not reforms, they were economic warfare. And the victims are the poor, the vulnerable, and the struggling middle class,” he stated.

Sowore urged Nigerians to rise above political apathy and demand real change, insisting that true liberation can only come from a mass movement committed to dismantling the corrupt political establishment.

“The time for silence is over. Nigeria needs a revolution, not recycled failures. The people must reclaim their power,” he declared.

As public discontent continues to brew, Sowore’s damning statement adds to the growing chorus of voices calling for accountability, transparency, and urgent intervention to save a nation teetering on the brink.
