Kaduna Bloodbath: Ruthless Battle Between Rival Bandit Factions in Giwa Leaves Dozens Dead

A ferocious internal war between rival factions of armed bandits erupted in Giwa Local Government Area of Kaduna State on April 17, 2025, leaving scores of terrorists dead in what appears to be a power tussle gone awry.

According to credible intelligence sources, the deadly confrontation unfolded in the volatile Galadimawa axis, a known hotspot for bandit activity. Eyewitnesses and informants described the scene as a “chaotic battlefield,” with fighters on both sides unleashing a barrage of gunfire in a grisly showdown that lasted for hours.

Though official figures remain unclear, multiple unconfirmed reports suggest that dozens of combatants were neutralized in the fratricidal clash. The rival groups, believed to be jostling for control over territory and illicit revenue streams, reportedly turned their weapons against each other in an unprecedented wave of violence.

Security operatives swiftly moved into the area following distress signals, securing the zone and evacuating the remains of the slain terrorists to an undisclosed location. A senior security source confirmed the intervention but declined to comment on the casualty count due to the sensitive nature of the ongoing intelligence operations.

The Kaduna State government and security agencies have yet to issue an official statement, but sources say surveillance operations are being intensified to prevent a spillover of violence into neighboring communities.

This brutal infighting among criminal elements may mark a turning point in the escalating turf wars across Nigeria’s North-West, where fractured loyalties and competition for dominance continue to fuel insecurity.
