The Adamawa State Police Command expresses deep sorrow over the gruesome murder of Mr. Thomas Godwin, popularly known as Zamfara, who was brutally attacked and killed by unknown assailants on the night of Tuesday, April 15, 2025, while returning home in Yola.
According to preliminary findings, Mr. Godwin was ambushed and savagely assaulted with sticks and clubs by yet-to-be-identified individuals. The ferocity of the attack left him fatally wounded, and he was later confirmed dead.
In response to this heinous act, the Commissioner of Police, CP Dankombo Morris, PSC (+), has ordered an immediate and full-scale investigation into the matter. A dedicated team of seasoned detectives from the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) has already been mobilized to unravel the circumstances surrounding the murder and to track down those responsible.
The Adamawa State Police Command assures the public that no stone will be left unturned in the pursuit of justice for the slain victim. The Command further calls on residents to remain calm and law-abiding while urging anyone with useful information to come forward and assist the investigation.
“We mourn the loss of Mr. Thomas Godwin and extend our heartfelt condolences to his family and loved ones,” the Command stated.
Justice will be served.
