Adamawa State Set to Commemorate National Police Day on April 7

The Adamawa State Police Command proudly announces the official inauguration of National Police Day, an annual event scheduled for the 7th of April every year. This momentous occasion was established in response to a presidential directive aimed at honoring the unwavering dedication, sacrifices, and invaluable contributions of police officers nationwide.

The Commissioner of Police, CP Dankombo Morris, Psc(+), extends a warm invitation to all community members to join in the celebration of this historic event, which also seeks to strengthen police-community relations and enhance public trust through meaningful engagement.

Week-Long Activities (April 2nd – 7th, 2025)
To mark this significant occasion, the Command has outlined a series of impactful programs aimed at fostering collaboration, community service, and security awareness. The planned activities include:

1. Free Medical Service Outreach
In a bid to promote public health, the Command will provide free medical services to community members. This humanitarian initiative underscores the police’s commitment to holistic community service, ensuring that residents receive essential healthcare support.

2. Sanitation and Cleanup of Public Spaces
Partnering with the State Ministry of Environment, the Command will spearhead a large-scale sanitation and environmental cleanup drive aimed at improving public hygiene and beautifying communal spaces.


3. Town Hall Meeting with Critical Stakeholders
A high-level roundtable dialogue will be convened, bringing together community leaders, traditional rulers, government representatives, and key stakeholders. This session will focus on addressing security concerns, crime prevention strategies, and fostering enhanced collaboration between the police and the public.

4. School Outreach: Campaign Against Cultism and Social Vices
Police officers will engage with students and youths in schools and public spaces, delivering awareness and educational programs on the dangers of cultism, violent crime, sexual and gender-based violence (SGBV), Shilla gangsterism, and other social vices. The campaign aims to empower young people to make positive life choices and contribute to a safer society.


5. Walkathon for Strength and Partnership Building
A walkathon will be organized to promote physical fitness while strengthening police-community relations. This initiative is designed to foster unity, partnership, and trust, reinforcing the collective effort needed to ensure safety and security in Adamawa State.
