The newly created Maiha Emirate Council marked its first Eid al-Fitr celebration in a spectacular and historic fashion, with traditional displays, prayers, and heartfelt gratitude to both divine and political leadership.

At the heart of the celebration was the First-Class Emir of Maiha, Alhaji Ahmadu Saibaru Sanda, who expressed profound appreciation to the Almighty Allah for His blessings upon the people of the emirate. In his Eid message, delivered at his palace in Maiha, the royal father also extended his sincere gratitude to the Executive Governor of Adamawa State, Rt. Hon. Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, for his visionary leadership and for granting Maiha its long-awaited emirate status.

The emir emphasized the importance of peace, unity, and moral upbringing, urging parents to instill strong values in their children, whom he described as the future leaders of the emirate. He also called on residents to uphold law and order, tolerance, and mutual respect, which he described as the foundation for progress and development. Additionally, he condemned tribalism, ethnic divisions, and all forms of hatred, stressing that a peaceful and united community is essential for sustained growth.

Following the Eid prayers at the Maiha Eid ground, the Chief Imam of Maiha, Sheikh Jafar Adamu, delivered a powerful sermon, urging the faithful to fear Allah, show kindness to orphans, and fully submit to the divine will. He prayed for Allah’s blessings and for lasting peace in the emirate, emphasizing that true prosperity comes from obedience to Allah and social harmony.

The Executive Chairman of Maiha Local Government Area, Alhaji Abubakar Mustapha, also expressed gratitude to Allah for witnessing the first Eid celebration of the newly created emirate. He commended Governor Fintiri for his commitment to grassroots development, describing the creation of the Maiha Emirate as a historic achievement that will uplift the people of the area.

Similarly, in their separate remarks, Hon. Amad Jingi, the Member Representing Maiha Constituency, and Former Commissioner for Water Resources, Hon. Hassan Kaigama, hailed the governor’s decision, calling it a momentous step towards political and cultural recognition. They urged the people of Maiha to remain united and work collectively for the progress of the emirate.

The Eid festivities were filled with colorful cultural displays, including majestic horse riding performances, which showcased the rich heritage of the Maiha people. The vibrant atmosphere reflected the deep sense of pride and joy felt by the residents as they celebrated this historic occasion.

With the foundation of the Maiha Emirate Council now firmly established, the people look forward to a future of unity, peace, and development, under the leadership of Emir Ahmadu Saibaru Sanda and the continued support of the government.
