The Adamawa State Police Command has made a chilling breakthrough in its fight against violent crimes, apprehending two suspected ritualists accused of the gruesome murder of a 10-year-old boy in Jada Local Government Area.
Announcing the arrest via its official X handle, the command confirmed that its operatives from the Divisional Police Headquarters in Jada successfully nabbed the suspects, identified as Ibrahim Abdul Malik (27) and Aliyu Abdul Malik (18), both residents of Anguwan Sarkin Yamma, Jada. The duo is accused of luring, killing, and beheading the victim, Abdalla Lawali, a young Almajiri from Anguwar Dubai, Jada.
The tragic saga began on March 7, 2025, when Abdalla was reported missing. Desperate searches by concerned individuals yielded no result—until intelligence-led investigations pointed to the Malik brothers. Acting on credible information, Commissioner of Police CP Dankombo Morris, Psc (+), swiftly mobilized operatives to the crime scene, where a decomposing body was discovered stuffed inside a sack. A further search of the suspects’ residence led to a harrowing discovery—the child’s severed head, buried in a shallow grave within the house premises.
During interrogation, the suspects confessed to the crime, claiming they were driven by an evil force. However, their remorse does little to erase the horror of their actions. Describing the murder as barbaric and inhumane, CP Dankombo Morris assured the public that justice will be served. He has directed that the case be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) for thorough investigation and diligent prosecution.
In response to the deeply disturbing crime, the Adamawa Police Command urges parents and guardians to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities in their communities. The command reassures the public that it remains steadfast in its mission to rid the state of such heinous crimes.
