In a bold move to fortify the operational effectiveness of the Nigeria Police Force, the Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Kayode Egbetokun, has approved the immediate redeployment of seven Assistant Inspectors-General of Police (AIGs) to critical command positions across the country. Additionally, 18 Commissioners of Police (CPs) who are awaiting promotion to AIG rank—pending approval from the Police Service Commission (PSC)—have been strategically posted to key offices nationwide.
The sweeping reassignments, announced in an official statement by the Force Public Relations Officer, ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, on Thursday, are aimed at optimizing police operations, strengthening security architecture, and ensuring effective leadership across command structures.
