Prophet Umueke Miracle, the controversial leader of Dynamic Flame of Fire and Miracle Ministries, has been hospitalized in critical condition after collapsing in police custody at the Rivers State Criminal Investigation Department (CID). The self-styled ‘Stroke’ Prophet was taken to the University of Port Harcourt Teaching Hospital (UPTH), where he remains in a coma.
This dramatic turn of events follows Prophet Miracle’s arrest over the illegal confinement of his wife, Success Miracle, whom he allegedly detained for five days in a secluded house in Port Harcourt’s GRA area.
SaharaReporters had earlier reported on Sunday that Prophet Miracle was apprehended after his wife’s rescue. Rivers State Police Commissioner, CP Olugbenga Adepoju, confirmed that the clergyman was taken into custody at the State CID under the supervision of a Deputy Commissioner of Police.
However, barely 24 hours after his detention, the embattled prophet reportedly collapsed under intense pressure following widespread media coverage of the case. A source disclosed that he lost consciousness at the CID and was rushed to UPTH late Sunday night, where he remains unresponsive.
The unfolding scandal has brought to light shocking allegations of financial control, manipulation, and abuse within Prophet Miracle’s marriage. Success Miracle, in a chilling interview with SaharaReporters, detailed years of subjugation and financial oppression since their marriage in 2017.
She alleged that her husband:
Forbade her from owning a bank account or having financial independence.
Failed to provide for her personal needs while amassing wealth.
Subjected her to house arrest whenever they had marital disputes.
Desperate to escape financial ruin, Success secretly opened an Access Bank account and started a small business selling water and ministry supplies. With help from ministry staff, she managed to sustain herself until her husband uncovered the account.
According to Success, Prophet Miracle discovered her secret financial activities after deceiving Access Bank staff into revealing her balance. Posing as a generous spouse, he reportedly claimed he wanted to deposit ₦500 million into the account, leading bank officials to disclose her financial details.
Enraged by the revelation, the prophet allegedly abducted his wife on a Tuesday night, drove her to a rented house behind Casablanca, opposite the former Rita Gate in GRA, and held her captive for five days. He confiscated her phones, cutting off all means of communication.
Despite reports suggesting that Prophet Miracle wielded influence over certain police officers, Rivers State Commissioner of Police, CP Olugbenga Adepoju, denied any ties with him. He promptly dispatched a police team, led by DPO Abacha, to rescue Success and arrest the pastor.
However, Prophet Miracle’s sudden collapse in custody has added a dramatic twist to the saga.
The case has sparked intense public debate, with many questioning the prophet’s influence and the extent of his alleged abuses. While some of his followers remain in shock, critics argue that his collapse is a ploy to evade justice.
Authorities have yet to disclose the next course of action, but as the prophet battles for his life in a coma, the scandal surrounding his ministry continues to unfold.
