BREAKING: Police Arrest Port Harcourt Pastor, Umeke Miracle, for Unlawfully Detaining Wife Amid Shocking Allegations of Abuse and Financial Manipulation

Port Harcourt-based cleric, Prophet Umeke Miracle, the leader of Dynamic Flame of Fire and Miracle Ministries, has been arrested by the police for unlawfully detaining his wife, Success Miracle, for five days at a residence in the GRA area of Port Harcourt, Rivers State.

SaharaReporters earlier reported that Success had been freed, and the controversial pastor was invited by the police over allegations of illegally confining his wife.

Confirming the development, Rivers State Commissioner of Police, CP Olugbenga Adepoju, told SaharaReporters, “I have instructed that he be taken to the State Criminal Investigation Department (CID). The Deputy Commissioner will handle the case from there.”

Sources disclosed that Prophet Miracle was taken into custody after honoring a police invitation. His arrest followed an operation led by DPO Abacha, who mobilized a police team to free Success from the alleged confinement.

At the scene, CP Adepoju called Prophet Miracle and confronted him about the accusations. However, the pastor denied detaining his wife. When the commissioner requested to speak directly with Success, the cleric insisted that he should be addressed first as the husband.

Realizing the severity of the situation, CP Adepoju ordered that both Prophet Miracle and his wife be taken to the station for questioning. However, the pastor pleaded to be allowed to conduct his Sunday service before reporting to the police. While he was permitted to proceed with his sermon, officers ensured Success was taken to the station to provide her statement.

During questioning, Success Miracle made shocking revelations, alleging that her husband had subjected her to years of psychological control, financial abuse, and isolation since their marriage in 2017.

She disclosed that Prophet Miracle forbade her from opening a bank account or having personal financial resources, despite refusing to provide for her basic needs.

“Whenever we had issues, he would put me under house arrest. He made it clear that I should not have my own money or even open a bank account, yet he wasn’t giving me money either,” she told SaharaReporters.

She further alleged that Prophet Miracle had amassed several properties in his name while engaging in extramarital affairs. Attempts to request financial settlement were dismissed, with the pastor insisting that “church funds cannot be used for personal matters.”

Faced with economic hardship, Success secretly opened a bank account with Access Bank and started a small business, selling water and ministry supplies to sustain herself.

She revealed that some ministry staff helped with sales and deposited proceeds into her account. However, Prophet Miracle eventually discovered the account through one of his secretaries.

According to Success, the pastor tricked bank officials into revealing her account balance by falsely claiming he intended to deposit ₦500 million into her account. The bank staff disclosed that she had a balance of ₦5 million, which enraged him.

“He accused me of stealing his money and running a business under his ministry without his permission,” she said.

On Tuesday night, Prophet Miracle allegedly forced his wife into his car and took her to a secluded house in GRA, behind Casablanca, opposite the former Rita Gate.

She said he confiscated her phones to prevent her from reaching anyone.

“He told me he was going to sue me and has kept me here since Tuesday night. It’s not a prison; it’s a normal house that I think he rented,” she added.

Upon hearing the allegations, CP Olugbenga Adepoju swiftly mobilized a police team led by DPO Abacha to rescue her.

Following reports that Prophet Miracle had influence over some police officers, CP Adepoju dismissed the claims, stating that he had no ties to the pastor and was committed to ensuring justice was served.

“I don’t know any pastor. How can I allow someone to be locked inside a house? Am I an animal? Even a DPO wouldn’t allow that! People exaggerate situations to make them seem more serious than they are,” he said.

The police have assured that the case will be thoroughly investigated, with Prophet Miracle expected to face charges related to unlawful detention, financial manipulation, and domestic abuse.
