Taking to his official X (formerly Twitter) handle, Sani recalled a harrowing experience during his tenure as a senator, when he publicly disclosed the salaries and allowances of his colleagues. The move, he revealed, almost led to his suspension for six months, but he was saved at the last minute by Divine Intervention and the intervention of then Senate President Bukola Saraki and his deputy, Ike Ekweremadu.
Sani’s statement carries a chilling warning for those who dare to challenge the establishment:
“Just know that if you are there and you blow the whistle too loudly, you will be ‘on your own.’ No senator will bring his head or neck to support you.”
