In a shocking and brazen attack, armed men posing as operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) have abducted 10 guests from the White Hill Hotel on Shiroro Road, Chanchaga Local Government Area of Niger State.
According to intelligence sources, the attack occurred in the early hours of Tuesday, February 27, 2025, at approximately 4:58 a.m. The assailants, dressed in what appeared to be EFCC uniforms, stormed the hotel under the guise of conducting an official operation.
Eyewitnesses revealed that the criminals meticulously disabled the hotel’s CCTV cameras before breaking into individual rooms, forcefully dragging away their victims. The abducted guests were taken to an undisclosed location, leaving behind an atmosphere of fear and confusion.
Security analyst and counter-insurgency expert, Zagazola Makama, reported that law enforcement agencies have launched a full-scale investigation into the attack. The Assistant Commissioner of Police, State Intelligence Department (Acpol SID), confirmed ongoing efforts to track down the perpetrators and ensure the safe return of the abducted individuals.
Authorities have urged the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity, as security operatives intensify their manhunt for the kidnappers.
Meanwhile, efforts by SaharaReporters to reach EFCC spokesperson Dele Oyewale for comments proved futile, as his phone remained switched off at the time of reporting.
This incident raises fresh concerns over the increasing use of law enforcement impersonation by criminals to carry out heinous acts, further deepening insecurity in the country.
