Sexual Harassment Scandal: Senator Natasha Warns Akpabio’s Wife to Stay Out, Says She Has ‘Concrete Evidence’

The controversy surrounding Senate President Godswill Akpabio has deepened as Kogi Central Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan issued a strong warning to his wife, Mrs. Unoma Akpabio, urging her to steer clear of the sexual harassment and intimidation allegations leveled against her husband.

In a fiery statement, Akpoti-Uduaghan made it clear that she possesses solid evidence to substantiate her claims and insisted that Akpabio must defend himself without interference from his wife.

The rift between Akpoti-Uduaghan and the Senate President began when she refused to sit in a designated seat during a Senate session, citing Order 10 of the Senate Standing Rules. However, what started as a parliamentary disagreement quickly escalated into a full-blown scandal.

Speaking on Arise News on Friday, the Kogi senator alleged that Akpabio had been deliberately frustrating her legislative efforts, blocking her motions, and intimidating her after she allegedly rejected his sexual advances.

In an apparent attempt to defend her husband, Mrs. Akpabio dismissed the allegations during a press conference in Abuja. She described them as baseless and unfounded, emphasizing that both families had once shared a cordial relationship even before Akpoti-Uduaghan’s marriage.

However, Akpoti-Uduaghan wasted no time in responding. Through her lawyer, Victor Giwa, she issued a strongly worded letter, dated March 1, 2025, warning Mrs. Akpabio to stay out of Senate matters.

Titled:
“Stay Away from Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan’s Sexual Harassment and Intimidation Allegation Against Senate President Godswill Akpabio to Safeguard Your Sanity and That of Your Family,”
the letter underscored that the accusations were directed at Akpabio himself, and it was up to him—not his wife—to respond.

‘I Will Not Be Silenced’ – Akpoti-Uduaghan Declares

In the letter, Akpoti-Uduaghan made it clear that she had endured enough, stating:

> “Our client has tolerated all forms of harassment from the Senate President, but she has now been constrained to reveal the torture and victimization she has suffered in the Red Chambers.”

She reaffirmed her stance, warning Mrs. Akpabio to stay out of the matter to preserve her family’s peace, adding:

> “Our client has concrete evidence to substantiate her allegations. We suggest that you leave the defense of these allegations to the Senate President to maintain your sanity and that of your family.”

Despite the heated controversy, Akpoti-Uduaghan reaffirmed her commitment to advocating for Nigerian women, vowing to continue championing justice and gender equality in the country.

As this scandal unfolds, all eyes remain on Senate President Akpabio and whether he will publicly defend himself against these damning allegations.
