In a daring counteroffensive against criminal elements, troops of the 3 Division and Operation Safe Haven have successfully neutralized two kidnappers and rescued a woman and her daughter in Gindiri, Mangu Local Government Area (LGA) of Plateau State.
Intelligence sources confirmed to Zagazola Makama that the high-stakes operation unfolded on February 23 at approximately 8:30 p.m. after security forces received a distress alert regarding the abduction in Gindiri Town.
Acting swiftly on the intelligence, troops mobilized and pursued the kidnappers, tracking them to the outskirts of the town. A fierce gunfight ensued, during which two of the criminals were eliminated, while another was critically wounded and captured.
Despite the intensity of the exchange, the abducted woman and her daughter were rescued unharmed. They were immediately taken to the Jos University Teaching Hospital (Gindiri Branch) for medical evaluation before being joyfully reunited with their family.
Following the successful rescue, security forces have ramped up surveillance and intensified patrols in the area to deter future attacks and restore public confidence. The latest operation underscores the military’s unwavering commitment to dismantling criminal networks and ensuring the safety of Plateau residents.
