Terror and Ransom: Afenifere Youth Leader Pleads for Life as Kidnappers Demand ₦100 Million by 3 PM Deadline

The National President of the Afenifere National Youth Council, Prince Eniola Joseph Ojajuni, is fighting for his life in captivity as his abductors set a strict 3 PM deadline today (Monday) for the payment of a ₦100 million ransom. In a harrowing video obtained by SaharaReporters, a kidnapper is seen pointing an AK-47 at Ojajuni’s chest while the visibly distressed youth leader makes a desperate plea for financial assistance to secure his release.

“Nigerians, Please Help Me!”

With exhaustion evident in his voice, Ojajuni appeals to the public, begging for urgent intervention.

“Nigerians, please help me! Your donation—₦100,000, ₦50,000, or ₦1 million—can go a long way in saving my life,” he pleads. “My name is Prince Eniola Ojajuni. God bless you. Aderohunmu, please help me spread this video.”

This chilling development follows a 48-hour ultimatum issued by the kidnappers, who had already shot Ojajuni in the buttock to pressure his family into compliance.

A voice recording obtained by SaharaReporters reveals intense and heart-wrenching negotiations between the family and the kidnappers.

A desperate family member attempts to bargain, explaining that the family is struggling to raise funds by selling a piece of land.

“We don’t have that kind of money. We are planning to sell a small piece of family land in the village. If we sell it, we’ll see how much we can raise. How do we bring the money? Where do we pay?”

But the kidnappers remain adamant.

“You must pay in cash,” one of the abductors responds coldly.

When the family offers ₦10 million, the kidnapper erupts in anger.

“God forbid bad thing! If you continue talking nonsense, I swear to Almighty God you won’t hear from me again. The last price my boss gave me is ₦100 million, but if you can raise something better, let me know.”

In a chilling twist, one of the kidnappers claims that an anonymous sponsor had already paid them ₦50 million to kidnap and kill Ojajuni, with instructions to decapitate him, mutilate his body, and remove his eyes.

“Let me tell you the secret. Someone paid us ₦50 million to kidnap him and kill him. We were instructed to cut off his head, his manhood, and remove his eyes for them to collect. If you don’t pay, forget about this man.”

Ojajuni, a prominent advocate for youth empowerment, had been traveling when his vehicle came under attack between Ondo and Kabba. He narrated how the assailants shot at him and how he has been bleeding since.

“It was between Ondo and Kabba that they shot at us. I’m bleeding now,” he recounted.

His family, in a desperate attempt to secure his release, has called on human rights activist Deji Adeyanju and other prominent figures for assistance.

The Afenifere National Youths Council has issued a statement condemning the abduction and urging the Nigerian authorities to take immediate action.

“Prince Ojajuni is a prominent figure in Nigeria and a strong advocate for youth empowerment and development. We call on security agencies to intervene before it is too late,” said Abiodun Aderohunmu, the council’s National Secretary.

The group also pleaded with Nigerians to provide any information that could lead to his rescue.

With the 3 PM deadline fast approaching, tension is at an all-time high. Will the government intervene? Will Nigerians rally to save the youth leader? Or will the kidnappers carry out their deadly threat?

Time is running out.
