Lucky Aiyedatiwa Sworn In as Ondo State Governor, Pledges Progressive Leadership

In a historic transition of power, Lucky Aiyedatiwa has been officially sworn in as the Governor of Ondo State, marking the commencement of his first full four-year term. The inauguration ceremony, held at the Ondo State Sports Complex in Akure on Monday, was a moment of both celebration and reflection for the people of the state.

Aiyedatiwa took his oath of office at exactly 12:59 p.m., following the swearing-in of his deputy, Olayide Adelami. This milestone comes just two months after he secured victory in the Ondo governorship election under the banner of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

The newly inaugurated governor first assumed office in December 2023, stepping in to complete the tenure of his predecessor, Governor Rotimi Akeredolu, who passed away while in office. With this fresh mandate, Aiyedatiwa now has the opportunity to implement his full governance agenda, promising to build on past achievements and introduce progressive reforms aimed at improving the lives of Ondo residents.

The swearing-in ceremony witnessed the presence of top political figures, traditional rulers, party stalwarts, and thousands of enthusiastic supporters, all eager to see the next phase of leadership in the state.

In his inaugural speech, Aiyedatiwa reaffirmed his commitment to economic growth, infrastructural development, and social welfare, pledging to steer Ondo State towards prosperity and stability.

As the new administration unfolds, all eyes will be on Aiyedatiwa’s leadership and how he navigates the challenges ahead to fulfill his campaign promises.
