The Katsina State Police Command has successfully foiled three separate bandit attacks, neutralized a suspected bandit, and prevented the theft of motorcycles in a series of swift, high-stakes security operations across the state.

According to intelligence sources, the first attack unfolded around 12:57 a.m. on Sunday when heavily armed bandits launched an assault on personnel of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) stationed at the Federal Ministry of Agriculture Silo Grains Store along the Dutsinma-Kurfi Road.

A distress call from CSC Rulwanu Abdullahi, the Divisional Officer of the NSCDC, alerted security forces. Responding with precision, the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of Dutsinma swiftly mobilized a combat-ready team, deploying an Armored Personnel Carrier (APC) to confront the attackers. A fierce gun duel ensued, forcing the bandits into retreat. One suspected bandit was neutralized on the spot, while others escaped into the bush with gunshot wounds.

Barely 30 minutes later, at approximately 1:20 a.m., another distress call reported a silent yet deadly invasion of Garo Village by another group of bandits. Before security forces could arrive, the attackers had already abducted two residents—45-year-old Sahu Danyaro and 60-year-old Kallah Sarkin Noma.

The bandits also shot and killed a 35-year-old man, Basiru Babangida, before fleeing into the night. Security operatives have since launched an intensive manhunt to track the criminals and rescue the kidnapped victims.

Meanwhile, in another incident around 1:00 a.m., armed criminals stormed Balmo Village in Kahutu, Danja LGA, attempting to steal four Boxer motorcycles from the residence of Garba Nuhu (40).

Acting on intelligence, the DPO of Danja rapidly assembled a tactical response team. Upon arrival, the operatives swiftly engaged the criminals, thwarting the robbery attempt and forcing the assailants to flee into the surrounding forest. Security forces are actively pursuing the suspects to bring them to justice.

The Katsina State Police Command has reiterated its unwavering commitment to sustaining relentless security operations aimed at eradicating banditry and other criminal activities across the state. Residents are urged to remain vigilant and cooperate with security agencies by providing timely and actionable intelligence.

These latest operations send a strong message to criminal elements that security forces remain on high alert, ready to neutralize threats and restore lasting peace to Katsina State.
