Adamawa Police Clamp Down on Kidnappers: Two Suspects Arrested, Deadly Weapons Recovered

…CP Reaffirms Commitment to Security, Urges Public Vigilance

The Adamawa State Police Command has achieved another significant breakthrough in its relentless fight against kidnapping and violent crimes. In a well-coordinated operation on February 21, 2025, operatives from the Anti-Kidnapping Unit, in collaboration with local hunters, stormed notorious criminal hideouts in Ngurore Forest and Gborom Mountain, spanning Yola South and Demsa Local Government Areas.

Acting on credible intelligence, the operatives executed a tactical raid that led to a fierce gun duel as the criminals attempted to resist arrest. However, the security forces overpowered them, leading to the arrest of two key suspects: Ahmadu Mohammed and Halilu Mohammed.

Weapons and Items Recovered:

Two (2) AK-47 rifles

Sixty-six (66) rounds of live 7.62mm ammunition

One pump-action rifle

A Dane gun

Assorted charms and other incriminating items

Despite the successful arrests, some gang members managed to escape with gunshot wounds. The police have launched an intensive manhunt to track them down and bring them to justice.

The Commissioner of Police, while commending the gallant efforts of the Anti-Kidnapping Unit and local hunters, reassured the people of Adamawa State of the Command’s unwavering commitment to stamping out crime. He urged residents, especially in Yola South and Demsa LGAs, to report any individuals with suspicious injuries or movements to the nearest police station.

The police remain resolute in their mission to ensure a safer Adamawa State.
