The son of Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Leramo Caleb from Ekiti State has broken his silence on the harrowing events leading to the deaths of his parents, shedding light on a seemingly normal evening that ended in unimaginable tragedy.
SaharaReporters, via its official X handle, reported the heartbreaking account, where the couple’s son revealed that his parents had spent their final hours laughing, praying, and sharing stories—showing no visible signs of discord—before a violent altercation took both their lives.
ASP Caleb was reported to have confronted his wife over an alleged extramarital affair, arresting a man suspected of being romantically involved with her. Tensions simmered within the household, but according to their son, there were no apparent signs of trouble on the night of the fatal incident.
In a video obtained by SaharaReporters, the son recalled that his parents had a normal and peaceful evening before tragedy struck.
> “My father and my mum were playing that night of the incident. When my mum cooked, she went to visit her sick grandma. Even my dad could not eat because my mum was not around. He waited for her to come back, and we ate together when she returned. Even after that, they were still playing and talking to each other. They told us funny stories. My father later took his Bible and prayed. After the prayer, I asked my mum if we should go to bed, but my father instructed me to sleep in our (children’s) room.”
However, the night took a horrifying turn.
A Midnight Horror Unfolds
The son recounted being abruptly woken up by disturbing noises in the middle of the night.
> “While sleeping, I suddenly started hearing strange sounds. I woke up and alerted my sister, telling her I could hear the sound of a cutlass—it meant my mum and dad were fighting. My sister tried to open the door, but they had already locked it. My dad was shouting, and my mum was too. We ran to call our neighbors, who helped push the door open. When we finally got in, we saw them both lying there—dead.”
Sources revealed that the fight escalated to a gruesome and deadly end. The wife allegedly used a sharp object to sever her husband’s manhood, causing him to bleed to death. Before succumbing to his injuries, ASP Caleb reportedly retaliated, attacking her with a machete—resulting in her death as well.
The Nigeria Police Force has confirmed the deaths of the couple, describing it as a deeply tragic domestic incident. The case has sent shockwaves through the Ekiti community, leaving many in disbelief over how a home that appeared peaceful just hours before could turn into a crime scene drenched in blood and sorrow.
