The Ogun State Police Command has issued a warrant for the arrest of the controversial street singer, Habeeb Okikiola Olalomi, better known as Portable, following his alleged involvement in a violent attack on government officials performing their lawful duties.
In an official statement released on Tuesday by the command’s spokesperson, Omolola Odutola, the police confirmed that a valid court order had been obtained for the arrest of the singer, who has reportedly gone into hiding. This follows the brutal confrontation that took place on February 5, 2025, at approximately 10:00 a.m., in Oke-Osa, Tigbo Ilu Ota, during an enforcement operation led by officials from the Ogun State Ministry of Physical Planning and Urban Development’s Ota Zonal Office.
The incident began when enforcement officers, executing their duties, encountered an elderly man at Odogwu Bar, who was later identified as Portable’s father. When the officials requested to see the approved building plan, the elderly man stated that his son was unavailable. Not long after, Portable allegedly arrived at the scene, brandishing a firearm and accompanied by a group of nine thugs. The singer and his gang reportedly launched a vicious attack on the officers, leaving them with various injuries. Despite the assault, the officers managed to flee the scene and promptly reported the attack to the Ota Area Command.
The case was subsequently transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) for further investigation. While the police have arrested the nine accomplices involved in the attack, Portable managed to escape and has since ignored multiple formal invitations from the Ogun State Police Command, asking for his cooperation. This refusal to comply with legal proceedings led to the police obtaining a court order declaring him a wanted man.
The police have urged the public to assist in locating Portable and warned that anyone found harboring or aiding the fugitive will face legal consequences. Odutola emphasized the importance of cooperation, urging anyone with information to contact the Ogun State Police Command or the nearest police station.
“Let us work together to ensure justice is served,” Odutola said, urging the public to be vigilant and provide any leads that could result in Portable’s swift apprehension.
The incident has sparked widespread outrage, further tarnishing the image of the singer, known for his controversial public behavior. Authorities are now seeking the public’s help to bring him to justice for his violent actions against government officials, adding another chapter to the increasingly turbulent career of the notorious musician.
