In a decisive onslaught against criminal elements, Nigerian Army troops, in collaboration with Operation FANSAN YANMA, local vigilantes, and community defense forces, stormed a notorious bandit enclave known as Dabar Dan Dari Biyar in Sakkarawa Forest, western Sabon Birni. The joint operation resulted in the destruction of the heavily fortified hideout and the elimination of several bandits.

Sources confirmed that the bandits, caught off guard by the overwhelming firepower of the security forces, suffered heavy casualties. However, some—including a notorious bandit leader—managed to escape the assault, though severely wounded.

A survivor, recently freed after two harrowing months in captivity at the infamous Gwali Gwali camp—controlled by bandit kingpin Kachalla Dan Dari Biyar—shared chilling details about the group’s operations.

According to the victim, the criminals had planned to hand over a ransom of ₦2 million and a motorcycle to Boko Haram operatives this Thursday in exchange for hostages. He further described the hideout as a well-structured criminal base, complete with seating arrangements and makeshift beds, emphasizing the sophistication of the bandits’ setup.

Following the successful raid, security forces have launched a relentless manhunt for the fleeing bandits. Additional intelligence obtained from the rescued captive has been handed over to security agencies for further action, as troops remain determined to eradicate all criminal elements from the region.

The Nigerian military’s renewed offensive signals an unwavering commitment to restoring peace in Sabon Birni and beyond.
