In a landmark development, the Police Service Commission has officially appointed Olohundare Moshood Jimoh as the new Commissioner of Police for Lagos State Command. A statement issued by Ikechukwu Ani, the Head of Press and Public Relations at the Commission, confirmed that Jimoh’s appointment was ratified after his stellar service as the Commissioner of Police for the Ports Authority in Eastern Ports. Jimoh, who hails from Kwara State, is a seasoned police officer with an extensive career. His previous roles include serving as the Force Public Relations Officer, Deputy Commissioner of Police at the Airport Command, Deputy Commissioner of Police for Finance and Administration, and Deputy Commissioner General Investigation. These positions have equipped him with vast knowledge in both public relations and internal security management.

The new Lagos Commissioner of Police underwent a comprehensive screening process before his appointment, during which he appeared before top officials of the Police Service Commission. Among the distinguished personalities who evaluated his candidacy were the Commission’s Chairman, DIG Hashimu Argungu, retired Supreme Court Justice Adamu Paul Galmuje, and DIG Taiwo Lakanu, the Honourable Commissioner representing the Police.
