Troops Thwart Armed Robbery, Rescue Victims in Daring Night Operations in Kaduna

Renowned security analyst and counterinsurgency expert Zagazola Makama has revealed that troops of Operation SAFE HAVEN (OPSH) successfully foiled a robbery attempt and rescued two victims in separate incidents in Sanga Local Government Area of Kaduna State.

The first daring operation unfolded on February 11, 2025, at approximately 7:45 p.m., along the Wasa–Ankwa road. Responding swiftly to a distress call, the troops arrived at the scene to find that armed robbers had blocked the road, trapping a helpless victim, Mr. Benjamin Yakubu. However, upon sighting the approaching soldiers, the assailants abandoned their victim and disappeared into the surrounding bush.

With the road cleared and normal movement restored, Mr. Yakubu was promptly evacuated to the General Hospital, Gwantu, where he received medical attention.

Barely an hour later, at about 8:45 p.m., another emergency call came in from Unguwan Mallam, reporting an attack on Malam Bashir Ibrahim along the Unguwan Mallam–Aboro road. The assailants, who had laid an ambush for him, attempted to carry out their assault but were forced to flee as troops arrived at the scene.

Malam Ibrahim was swiftly rescued and taken to Unguwan Mallam Primary Health Care Hospital for medical treatment. A knife, believed to have been left behind by the fleeing attackers, was recovered at the scene.

Following the twin operations, security forces have alerted the Nigeria Police Force for further investigation into the incidents, ensuring that the perpetrators are tracked down and brought to justice.

The successful intervention by Operation SAFE HAVEN troops once again underscores the Nigerian Army’s unwavering commitment to safeguarding lives and ensuring the security of communities across Kaduna State.
