Security operatives at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos, have arrested three unruly passengers aboard an Air Peace flight from London after they disrupted the flight with disorderly conduct.
According to Vanguard Newspaper, which reported the incident on its official X handle, the drama unfolded mid-flight when two individuals—identified as Adedigba Adewale and Ashibogu Magnus—abandoned their assigned Economy Class seats and forcefully occupied seats in the Business Class cabin. When flight attendants asked them to return to their designated seats, they defiantly refused, escalating tensions onboard.
Despite multiple warnings from the crew, the duo remained adamant, ignoring aviation protocols and creating a scene that unsettled fellow passengers. Their misconduct took a further disruptive turn when they, along with a third passenger, Iwonze Benjamin, openly consumed a bottle of rum they had smuggled onboard, violating airline safety regulations.
Their rowdy behavior raised serious security and safety concerns, prompting the captain to issue repeated announcements from the cockpit in an attempt to restore order. However, their defiance persisted, leaving the crew with no choice but to alert security agencies in Nigeria ahead of the aircraft’s arrival.
Upon landing, law enforcement officers were already stationed at the airport to swiftly apprehend the trio, who were immediately taken into custody for questioning.
Authorities have since launched a full investigation into the incident, with legal action expected to follow. Aviation experts have repeatedly warned against such reckless conduct, emphasizing that any disruption mid-flight poses serious risks to passengers, crew, and overall flight safety.
This incident serves as a stark reminder of the consequences of unruly behavior on flights, as airlines and security agencies continue to tighten enforcement against such infractions.
