Undercover Medic for Outlaws: Security Operatives Arrest Doctor Treating Wounded Bandits in Katsina

In a shocking revelation, security operatives in Katsina State have arrested a medical doctor, Lawan Ado, for allegedly providing medical services to wounded bandits operating in the region. Among his patients was the notorious bandit leader, Usman Modi-Modi, who has a N50 million bounty on his head.

According to reports, Dr. Ado clandestinely treated injured criminals in Safana Local Government Area and neighboring communities, offering his expertise to notorious outlaws in exchange for payments.

In a damning video confession, the doctor detailed how he attended to various bandits, including Modi-Modi, who sustained gunshot wounds during a clash with the Yan Kyanbara vigilante group. He admitted that the gang leader was first treated at a hospital in Taskiya before being brought to him for further medical attention.

“The first bandit I treated was Usman Modi-Modi. He was shot during a confrontation with vigilantes. Initially, he was taken to a hospital in Taskiya, but two days later, they brought him to me for further treatment. I was paid N18,000 for my services,” Ado confessed.

Revealing more details of his dealings, Ado disclosed that he also treated other bandits, including:

Mai Kudi, who was shot in Kurfi and paid him N8,000.

Audu, a close ally of Modi-Modi, who also paid N8,000 for treatment.

Dogo Mardi, who sustained injuries during a robbery operation and paid N11,000 for medical care.

The arrest of Dr. Ado underscores the deep-rooted complicity between some members of society and criminal elements, further complicating the fight against banditry in Nigeria. Authorities are now investigating the extent of his involvement, as well as any possible network of medical professionals aiding criminal gangs.
