A high-level political meeting is currently underway in Abeokuta, Ogun State, as former Vice President Atiku Abubakar engages in a closed-door session with his former boss, ex-President Olusegun Obasanjo.
Atiku, who arrived at Obasanjo’s residence within the Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library (OOPL) at exactly 12:37 p.m., is not alone. He is flanked by political heavyweights, including former Sokoto State Governor, Senator Aminu Tambuwal, and former Cross River State Governor, Senator Liyel Imoke. Other key political figures from the northern region also form part of the high-profile entourage.
Upon their arrival, the delegation was received by elder statesman Oyewole Fasawe, a close associate of Obasanjo, before proceeding straight into a private session with the former president, who was already waiting for them.
While the details of their discussions remain undisclosed, political analysts speculate that the meeting could be linked to strategic realignments ahead of the 2027 elections, given Atiku’s continuous involvement in Nigeria’s political landscape.
