In a decisive operation, troops of Operation Safe Haven have apprehended two suspected militias and seized firearms in Angwan Mata, Mangu Local Government Area of Plateau State.

The arrest, carried out on Tuesday at approximately 11:10 AM by troops of Sector 8, was based on credible intelligence regarding the activities of armed groups of Mwaghavul origin in the area, security sources confirmed to Zagazola Makama.

The detained suspects, Innocent Nanpan (20) and Sebastine Samuel (20), were caught in possession of a locally fabricated rifle and four cartridges.

Military insiders disclosed that the operation is part of a broader effort to dismantle armed militias terrorizing local communities in Plateau State. The suspects and the recovered weapons have been taken into custody for further investigation, with security agencies working to uncover their network and possible affiliations.

This latest success underscores the military’s unwavering commitment to restoring peace and security in crisis-prone regions of Nigeria.
