In a swift counterinsurgency operation, troops of Operation Safe Haven (Sector 3) have arrested a security guard, Mr. John Bala, in Miango Village, Bassa Local Government Area of Plateau State, for alleged possession of illegal firearms.
According to intelligence sources, the troops apprehended Bala at approximately 9:18 PM on Monday during a high-stakes operation codenamed Golden Peace, launched in response to credible intelligence on illegal arms possession in the area.

Upon searching the suspect, security operatives recovered a fabricated rifle, seven rounds of 7.62mm (NATO) ammunition, five mobile phones, and a cash sum of N120,000. Bala, a 43-year-old security guard at Anan School of Accountancy, is now in military custody as investigations continue into his possible ties to criminal elements operating in the region.
Authorities believe the arrest marks a significant breakthrough in the ongoing efforts to curb the proliferation of illegal weapons and maintain peace in Plateau State.
