The Adamawa State Police Command has announced the arrest of Mubarak Abdulkadiri, a resident of Shagari, Yola South LGA, for alleged fraud and possession of a suspected stolen vehicle.
According to a statement released on the Command’s official X (formerly Twitter) handle, Abdulkadiri was apprehended following a fraudulent transaction at Two Star Filling Station, Mubi.

On February 1, 2025, Ahmed Salihu, the manager of Two Star Filling Station, reported that Abdulkadiri had driven into the station and purchased fuel worth ₦97,850. He further deceived the attendants into giving him an additional ₦10,000 under the pretense of making a POS payment. However, instead of completing the transaction, he fled in a Honda CRV bearing a foreign registration number, HJ58URU.
Responding promptly to the report, officers from the Divisional Police Headquarters, Mubi North, launched a swift operation. Their efforts paid off when they intercepted and arrested Abdulkadiri at the Mubi Toll Gate.
Upon investigation, the suspect failed to provide a satisfactory explanation for the vehicle’s ownership. Furthermore, he was unable to produce any valid documents to prove ownership or justify his possession of the car.
The Adamawa State Police Command is calling on anyone with a legitimate claim to the recovered vehicle to visit the Divisional Police Headquarters, Mubi North, with valid proof of ownership. Alternatively, claimants can contact the Command’s Public Relations Officer (PRO) for further inquiries.
