Kaduna State Pilgrims Welfare Agency Disburses 2023 Hajj Refunds to Over 3,000 Pilgrims

The Kaduna State Pilgrims Welfare Agency (KSPWA) has successfully refunded over 3,000 pilgrims who participated in the 2023 Hajj, following reimbursements received from the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON).

Announcing this on Saturday via an official statement, the agency’s spokesperson, Yunusa Abdullahi, confirmed that each pilgrim received ₦61,080, which was disbursed directly into their respective bank accounts.

According to Mr. Abdullahi, the refunds were necessitated by disruptions in electricity supply at Muna, which affected cooling systems, causing discomfort for the pilgrims. NAHCON acknowledged the inconvenience and facilitated the reimbursement process.

However, the agency noted that some eligible pilgrims are yet to receive their refunds due to incomplete or missing account details. Mr. Abdullahi urged affected individuals to promptly submit their banking information to designated registration officers at their respective local government offices to avoid further delays.

“The agency remains committed to ensuring all eligible pilgrims receive their due refunds. Another round of disbursements is scheduled for next week, and we appreciate the patience of those still awaiting their payments,” he stated.

Despite overseeing the 2023 refund process, KSPWA is already gearing up for the 2024 Hajj exercise, emphasizing that the swift conclusion of the reimbursements will allow for smoother preparations for the upcoming pilgrimage.

The agency reassured pilgrims of its commitment to seamless financial transactions and overall pilgrimage experience, urging intending pilgrims to stay updated on registration procedures and requirements for the next Hajj.
