According to the Nigerian Army, these fraudsters exploit public trust by using these counterfeit accounts to solicit money and sensitive information from potential victims. While some of these criminals have been apprehended, the Army is intensifying efforts to track down others and bring them to justice.
The Army emphasized its unwavering commitment to protecting the public from such malicious activities, urging Nigerians to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity. It clarified that the Nigerian Army does not operate any official social media accounts on TikTok and urged the public to disregard any claims to the contrary.
