Anambra State Demolishes Hotel of Horrors: 30 Graves, Shrine, and Ammunition Discovered

In a dramatic and chilling turn of events, the Anambra State security outfit, Operation Udo Ga-Achi, codenamed Agunechemba, has demolished the infamous Udoka Golden Point Hotel and Suites, also known as “La Cruise Hotel,” located along Onitsha-Owerri Road. The hotel was uncovered as a hideout for kidnappers and a hub for nefarious criminal activities.

In a statement shared on X (formerly Twitter) by the Anambra State New Media late Saturday, it was revealed that the two-story building housed shocking discoveries, including over 30 partitioned graves on its top floor, a shrine used for sinister rituals, and live ammunition.

A chilling video clip circulating online shows the leader of the security team detailing the horrifying finds. “They have their shrine, and live cartridges and ammunition were recovered. The pot, containing blood-like content, is now at the SARS Office in Awkuzu as evidence,” he said. Feathers and other ritualistic items were also discovered alongside the graves, emphasizing the hotel’s use as a base for occult and criminal operations.

The demolition followed intensive investigations by Agunechemba, which recently busted other criminal hideouts in Isiagu, Awka South Local Government Area. The hotel, described as a fortress for kidnappers, had been the source of numerous complaints from local residents, who reported hearing gunshots in the area at night. However, fear of retaliation from criminals had long kept witnesses silent.

Christian Aburime, the Chief Press Secretary to Governor Chukwuma Soludo, confirmed the operation and commended the bravery of the security team. He stated, “The hotel was destroyed because it was confirmed to be a kidnappers’ den. A lot of incriminating items were discovered, including graves, army uniforms, live cartridges, and more. The community is relieved, as this was a hub of terror.”

Aburime credited the newly enacted Homeland Security Law 2025 for empowering the government to act decisively against criminals. “With this law, and the systems we’ve put in place, it’s now easier to gather credible information and flush out these criminals. More buildings linked to kidnappers, robbers, or hired killers will be demolished, and their owners will face prosecution,” he said.

The demolition has been met with applause from residents, who expressed relief at the government’s firm stance on crime. One community leader remarked, “For years, we lived in fear. Now, we can finally sleep peacefully.”

Governor Soludo’s administration has issued a stern warning: no criminal operation will be tolerated within the state. Structures connected to illegal activities will not only be demolished, but owners and operators will face the full wrath of the law.

This bold and swift action by Agunechemba serves as a testament to the government’s zero-tolerance approach to crime, sending a clear message to criminals: there is no hiding place in Anambra State.
