The suspects were nabbed while attempting to kidnap a local cow meat seller, identified as Chikamso, in the Agu Odumodu Umunya community.
According to reports, the gang lured Chikamso into a bush under the pretense of selling cattle. However, upon his arrival, the unsuspecting victim walked into an ambush, where the suspects, armed with AK-47 rifles, attempted to seize him.

One of the security operatives recounted the intense encounter in Igbo:
“These are Fulani cattle rearers we caught in the bush. They lured a meat seller named Chikamso to check their cattle. When he arrived, they ambushed him with weapons, but thankfully, he escaped and alerted us.”
He continued, “We responded quickly, but they opened fire on us during the operation. Despite the gunfire, we overpowered them and arrested three suspects.”
