In a commendable display of mentorship and knowledge sharing, the Nigerian Army, via its official X handle, announced that the Headquarters 1 Division hosted Army Cadets of the 72 Regular Course from the Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA), Kaduna. The study visit, held on Monday, 13th January 2025, provided the cadets with an invaluable opportunity to gain firsthand exposure to operational frameworks and leadership practices within the Division.

The visit underscores the Army’s commitment to nurturing future leaders through practical engagements and real-world learning experiences. As part of their military training, the cadets were introduced to strategic military operations, command responsibilities, and the complexities of maintaining security in Nigeria’s challenging environment.

The 1 Division Commander, Major General Mayirenso L. Saraso, welcomed the cadets warmly, emphasizing the significance of bridging theoretical knowledge with practical application. In his remarks, he encouraged the future officers to remain disciplined, resilient, and innovative in addressing contemporary security challenges.

The cadets were taken through a series of presentations on the Division’s structure, operational achievements, and challenges in safeguarding the nation. They also had interactive sessions with senior officers, allowing them to ask questions and deepen their understanding of military leadership in active operations.

This initiative is part of the Nigerian Army’s broader mission to build capacity among young officers and ensure they are well-prepared to tackle the evolving dynamics of national and regional security. By fostering such educational engagements, the Army reaffirms its dedication to developing a highly skilled and competent officer corps capable of safeguarding Nigeria’s sovereignty.

The visit concluded with a guided tour of the Division’s facilities, further enriching the cadets’ learning experience and strengthening their resolve to serve their country with distinction.
