A shocking domestic tragedy has rocked the Gbonogun area of Abeokuta, Ogun State, as a 22-year-old woman, Iyanu Adedeji, allegedly stabbed her husband, Funsho Jimoh, to death during a heated argument over infidelity accusations. PUNCH Metro reports, citing a security source, that the young couple, married with two children, had been embroiled in a heated argument when Funsho reportedly accused Iyanu of engaging in extramarital affairs. The disagreement quickly escalated into a physical altercation, during which Iyanu allegedly reached for a domestic knife and stabbed her husband in the chest.
According to the source, Iyanu made efforts to save her husband, rushing him to the Federal Medical Centre, Idi-Aba, but her attempts were futile as the attending doctor confirmed him dead on arrival.
The Ogun State Police Public Relations Officer, Omolola Odutola, confirmed the incident in a telephone conversation with PUNCH on Sunday. Odutola disclosed that the suspect, Iyanu Adedeji, had been apprehended and is currently in police custody, pending further investigations.
