Governor Fintiri Heralds New Era of Leadership with Appointment of Seven Royals in Adamawa State

The Adamawa State Government, through its official X (formerly Twitter) handle, has announced the historic approval of seven new traditional leaders by His Excellency, Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, CON. The appointments mark a significant milestone in the administration’s commitment to enhancing grassroots leadership and cultural preservation.

The newly appointed traditional rulers, whose roles will fortify governance and promote harmony in their respective domains, are:

HRH Alhaji Sani Ahmadu Ribadu – Emir of Fufore

HRH Barrister Alheri B. Nyako – Tol Huba

HRH Prof. Bulus Luka Gadiga – Mbege Ka Michika

HRH Dr. Ali Danburam (MBBS, FWACP, FCCP) – Ptil Madagali

HRH Aggrey Ali – Kumu of Gombi

HRH Ahmadu Saibaru – Emir of Maiha

HRH John Dio – Gubo Yungur


Governor Fintiri, in his congratulatory message, emphasized that the selections were a product of rigorous scrutiny, rooted in merit, popularity, and the leaders’ capacity to foster development and unity within their communities.

“These appointments are pivotal to ensuring our Chiefdoms and Emirates are led by individuals of integrity and competence,” the Governor remarked. “I urge the new Royal Highnesses to discharge their duties with fairness, honesty, and unwavering commitment to their people.”

The Governor highlighted the importance of traditional institutions as custodians of culture and drivers of peace, adding that the new leaders are expected to serve as bridges between the government and their communities.

The appointments, which take immediate effect, follow the creation of the Chiefdoms and Emirates, an initiative by the Fintiri administration aimed at strengthening the state’s traditional institutions and promoting equitable representation across all regions.

This groundbreaking move has been met with widespread acclaim, with citizens expressing optimism that the newly selected Royals will usher in an era of progressive leadership.
