In anticipation of the annual Cross Over Night celebrations slated for December 31, 2024, the Adamawa State Police Command has unveiled a comprehensive security and traffic management plan to ensure a peaceful and seamless event. The announcement, made via the command’s official X handle, highlights the deployment of security personnel and strategic arrangements designed to safeguard the festivities at the Unity Flyover near the Police Headquarters in Yola.
Commissioner of Police Adamawa State, in collaboration with sister security agencies, has deployed a robust security apparatus across strategic locations in the state capital, particularly around the event grounds. The heightened police presence will include visible patrols, stop-and-search operations, traffic management, and other essential security activities to ensure maximum safety throughout the event.
Traffic Diversion Plan Announced
To facilitate smooth traffic flow and minimize disruptions, the command has announced a detailed traffic diversion plan effective from 4:00 PM on December 31, 2024.
Aliyu Mustapha International Airport to Yola Township: Travelers are advised to divert from Adamawa Investment Junction through Target Junction and proceed to Ribadu Square.
Dougirei to Numan Road: Motorists should take Zoo Road and continue through Tsohon Kasuwa, passing by the Jimeta Ultra Modern Market.
Guidelines for the Public
To ensure the success of the celebrations, the police have advised the public to cooperate with security personnel and adhere to the diversion directives. Residents and visitors are urged to keep their vehicles away from the event area to avoid unnecessary congestion and comply with all security protocols.
