The Adamawa State Police Command has strongly denounced the brazen kidnapping of two clergymen, Pastor Ishaku D. Chiwar and Reverend James Kwayam of the EYN Church in Billa Malabu. The horrifying incident occurred in the early hours of December 30, 2024, in Hayin Gada, Billa village, Malabu district, Fufore Local Government Area.
In a statement released on the Command’s official X (formerly Twitter) handle, the police revealed that heavily armed assailants stormed the victims’ residences at approximately 2:00 a.m. and forcefully abducted them. The daring attack has sent shockwaves through the community, prompting widespread condemnation.
Commissioner of Police, CP Dankombo Morris, wasted no time in deploying specialized operational and manpower resources to track down the culprits. He assured the public that the Command is committed to rescuing the victims unharmed and bringing the perpetrators and their sponsors to justice.
“The unprovoked kidnapping of religious leaders is both unacceptable and intolerable. These individuals play a critical role in maintaining peace and stability in our communities,” the CP emphasized. He reaffirmed the Command’s dedication to safeguarding lives and combating all forms of violent crime in Adamawa State.
The Police Public Relations Officer, SP Suleiman Yahaya Nguroje, called on residents to remain calm and cooperate fully with law enforcement agencies. “We urge the public to provide any credible information that could assist in locating the victims and apprehending the criminals. Together, we can ensure the safety of lives and property in the state,” he stated.
