In a decisive operation against rising gang-related crimes, the Adamawa State Police Command has announced the arrest of three suspected members of the notorious Shila Gang. The breakthrough, which occurred in the early hours of December 29, 2024, was shared via the Command’s official X (formerly Twitter) handle.

According to the press release, officers acted swiftly upon receiving credible intelligence about the gang’s activities. The suspects were reportedly targeting individuals heading for early morning church prayers and other business activities along Bishop Street in Yola North Local Government Area.
When the police arrived at the scene, the gang members launched an aggressive attack with machetes and knives in an effort to resist arrest. However, officers employed minimum force to neutralize the threat, successfully apprehending three of the suspects, while two others managed to escape.

The apprehended individuals, who sustained injuries during the confrontation, are currently receiving medical attention while aiding ongoing investigations.
