The Kogi State Police Command has confirmed the arrest of a 21-year-old man, Abdulmuqeet Musari, for allegedly luring his 19-year-old friend, Usman Tijani, to a burial ground in Adavi Local Government Area, where he attempted to murder him after robbing him of N200,000.
The state’s Police Public Relations Officer disclosed that the incident occurred during the late hours of Thursday. According to preliminary investigations, Musari deceived Tijani into accompanying him to the secluded location under the guise of a personal errand. Upon arrival, Musari reportedly attacked his friend, attempting to end his life before making off with the cash.
Security operatives swiftly apprehended Musari following a tip-off from concerned residents. The victim, Tijani, is said to be receiving medical attention at a nearby hospital and is in stable condition.
The suspect remains in police custody as investigations continue. Law enforcement authorities have reassured the public of their commitment to ensuring justice is served in this case.
