Under the State Action on Business Enabling Reforms (SABER) initiative, the administration has equipped the Ministry of Land with cutting-edge tools, including three Xenox Enterprise scanners with artificial intelligence capabilities and 30 all-in-one computers. This technological leap underscores the state’s dedication to creating a seamless, efficient, and transparent land administration system.
Presenting the equipment, Dr. Bello Abubakar Song, the State Focal Person for SABER, outlined the program’s ambitious goals, which revolve around seven critical indicators designed to enhance transparency and operational efficiency. He urged the ministry to harness these advanced tools to meet the government’s objectives, particularly in digitizing land records and operations.
Dr. Bello emphasized that Adamawa State’s digital archiving of land certificates has already garnered accolades from the Nigeria Governors’ Forum, solidifying the state’s position as a trailblazer in leveraging technology for governance. He encouraged stakeholders to fully embrace the reforms to build public trust and improve service delivery.
Speaking on the broader implications of the initiative, Dr. Hammajam Ahmed Adamu, Special Adviser to Governor Fintiri on ICT, e-Governance, and Policy, praised the administration’s strides toward integrating digital solutions across all Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs). He highlighted the benefits of these reforms, including reducing paperwork, streamlining bureaucratic processes, and enhancing record security and accessibility.
“The digitization of certificates is a game-changer. It not only reduces employees’ workload but also ensures secure, easily retrievable records, which fosters trust and transparency in government operations,” Dr. Adamu explained.
Commissioner for Land, Joab Sahma, commended Governor Fintiri’s visionary leadership in transforming land administration in Adamawa State.
