Former Vice President of Nigeria, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, Wazirin Adamawa, has reaffirmed his unwavering commitment to education through his annual intervention program, Education Day. In a recent announcement on his official X handle, Atiku revealed the successful conclusion of this year’s edition, which focused on uplifting public schools in the Ganye area of Adamawa State.

The Education Day initiative, a flagship outreach program under Atiku’s foundation, is dedicated to supporting public education by providing scholarships and essential learning materials to students and schools across Adamawa State. This year’s event expanded its reach, touching all 18 public schools in Ganye Local Government Area.
In a testament to his dedication to educational development, Atiku’s team distributed thousands of notebooks, pencils, biros, and teaching aids to enhance the quality of education in these schools. Beyond material donations, the program identified and shortlisted 10 outstanding students for fully-funded scholarships, paving the way for their continued academic success.
“Our goal is to ensure that every child, regardless of their background, has access to quality education,” Atiku stated. “Through initiatives like Education Day, we are not just providing resources but investing in the future of our state and nation.”
The program, which has become a cornerstone of Atiku’s philanthropic efforts, highlights the importance of grassroots interventions in addressing the challenges of public education. By bridging gaps in access to resources and opportunities, the initiative not only empowers young minds but also strengthens the foundation for sustainable development in Adamawa State.
As the 2024 edition concludes, Atiku’s dedication to education continues to inspire hope and transformation, reinforcing his legacy as a champion for knowledge and progress.
