NAFDAC Cracks Down on Unsanitary Water Production in FCT, Destroys Illegal Products

The National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) has intensified its efforts to ensure public health and safety by launching a compliance operation targeting water production factories within the Federal Capital Territory (FCT). This was revealed in an official statement on the agency’s X (formerly Twitter) handle.

During the operation, NAFDAC inspectors uncovered a shocking violation at a water production facility in Gwarimpa. The facility was found manufacturing and selling unregistered sachet and table water under deplorable and unsanitary conditions, posing serious health risks to unsuspecting consumers.

Demonstrating zero tolerance for such infractions, the regulatory team promptly destroyed all illegal products on-site. The operation underscores NAFDAC’s unwavering commitment to safeguarding the health of Nigerians by ensuring compliance with regulations governing food and water safety.

This decisive action serves as a stark warning to other non-compliant businesses within the sector. NAFDAC reiterated its resolve to continue monitoring and taking swift action against any entity endangering public health through unsafe practices or the production of unregistered goods.

Consumers are advised to always check for NAFDAC registration numbers on products before purchase and report any suspicious or substandard items to the agency through its official channels.
