The Adamawa Police Command has apprehended two suspects over the alleged brutal killing of a police officer, Ibrahim Maizabuwa in Lamurde Local government of the State.
The Suspects identified as, Ezekiel Kefas, 67 and Stephen Zabadi, 44, both from Wamsa Suwa Ward of Lamurde Local government of the State were said to have beaten their victim to death.
Though the cause of the conflict was not immediately known, the death of the police officer under such a circumstance has raised serious concerns among members of the community who are calling on the security operatives to unravel the the cause of action.
The Police Public Relations Officer of the Adamawa Police Command, SP Suleiman Yahaya Ngurore told the pioneer that the suspect are already in police net helping the police in their investigations.
According to him, the apprehension of the Suspects followed a deliberate report submitted by the Late Officer’s Son, Danlami Ibrahim Maizabuwa to the Police in the Area who alerted the Security on the disappearance of his father who initially left home to visit his friend Ezekiel Kefas.
Investigations by our Correspondent revealed that deceased was violently killed and discreetly burried among the community by a group of irate Youths who pounced on him with sticks after the officer was allegedly reported to have visited his friend and embarked on assault, destruction of pots and other valuables at the Residence of his friend, a development observers claimed had precipitated the violent reaction of the Youths in the Area.

His friend Ezekiel Kefas was reported to have said during Police interrogations that the officer was killed by a group of thugs after he allegedly destroyed property and assaulted people in his (Kefas) compound.
“My friend came and started destroying property including a pot of soup and water in my house and assaulting people as a result of which women and children raised alarm which attracted thugs who beat him up to death.
“Those who killed him include Yakubu, Suleiman and Kilyobas. They beat him up with sticks to death. Yesterday, we went to the houses of those who killed him but we didn’t meet anyone of them,” he narrated.
The Commissioner of Police, Morris Dankombo, has ordered a full blown investigation into the incident and subsequent prosecution of the culprits.
