“Atiku Abubakar: A Towering Symbol of Integrity Amid Baseless Attacks – NYFA Fires Back”

Nigerian Youths for Atiku (NYFA) has observed with keen interest the barrage of misinformation being peddled by Lere Olayinka, the recently appointed media aide to the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT). In his desperate attempt to malign former Vice President Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, Olayinka has resorted to half-truths and baseless allegations, which NYFA vehemently condemns.

Since Nigeria’s return to democracy in 1999, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar has been a rallying point for unity and progressive governance. A man of unimpeachable character, Atiku has maintained a record devoid of political godfatherism or undue interference in his home state of Adamawa or anywhere else, even during his tenure as Vice President. The same cannot be said for Olayinka’s paymasters, who have turned their fiefdoms into personal enterprises.

It is both ironic and hypocritical for Olayinka to accuse Atiku of “serial betrayal” while working under individuals like Nyesom Wike and Ayodele Fayose, whose political careers have been defined by treachery and opportunism. Wike, whose erratic style of politics has earned him notoriety, seems to thrive on betrayal as a means of career advancement. Fayose’s own scandals, ranging from alleged mismanagement to deception, are well documented.

NYFA finds it laughable that Lere Olayinka—a failed House of Representatives candidate who could not even secure his family’s votes—has the audacity to label Atiku a failure. What credibility does a man have when he takes after mentors who prioritize whiskey and dollar bills over integrity? His tirades reflect the moral bankruptcy of his bosses, individuals who have allegedly looted public funds with impunity.

Former President Olusegun Obasanjo once described Fayose’s “chicken farm” as a sham—a vivid metaphor for his deceptive brand of politics. Yet this is the man Olayinka holds in high esteem. Is it any wonder that his public statements are as hollow as his political ambitions?

Atiku Abubakar represents everything his detractors lack: steadfastness, principle, and an unwavering commitment to democracy. Unlike those who have openly boasted about “pocketing the judiciary” or destabilizing political parties for selfish gains, Atiku has remained focused on nation-building. His departure from the PDP in 2015 was a principled stand, not an act of sabotage.

Olayinka’s recent outbursts are a weak attempt to distract Nigerians from the glaring failures of his benefactors. If not for the peculiarities of Nigerian politics, Wike and his ilk would be better suited for leadership roles within transport unions, not in the corridors of power.

A Call to Action
As Nigeria faces unprecedented challenges, NYFA calls on citizens to remain vigilant. The path to 2027 demands focus, unity, and the election of leaders with integrity and vision. Atiku Abubakar stands as a beacon of hope, a leader who will prioritize the nation’s interests over personal gain.

Olayinka and his bosses may continue their smear campaigns, but history will not be kind to those who mock the plight of Nigerians for political convenience. The Nigerian Youths for Atiku urge all Nigerians to reject divisive rhetoric and work collectively towards rescuing our nation from its current state of despair.

Signed:
Leadership of Nigerian Youths for Atiku (NYFA)
