Adamawa State’s Commissioner of Police, CP Dankombo Morris, Psc (+), has been honored with an Award of Excellence from the Arewa Consultative Forum (ACF) Youth Congress, acknowledging his outstanding dedication to security, justice, and alternative dispute resolution. The prestigious award was presented to him on November 4, 2024, at the state’s Police Headquarters, located along Justice Buba Ardo Way in Yola.

In a statement posted on the Adamawa State Police Command’s official X handle, CP Morris expressed his gratitude for the recognition, highlighting the crucial role of partnership between law enforcement, community leaders, and other stakeholders in building a more secure, peaceful society.

The award was formally delivered by the ACF National Chairman of the Security Committee, CMRD Muhammed N.S. Tali, during a well-attended ceremony. The ACF—a prominent socio-political and cultural organization representing the 19 northern states of Nigeria and Abuja—praised the Commissioner’s steadfast efforts in advancing security measures, promoting public safety, and deepening community relations across Adamawa State. His innovative approach to alternative dispute resolution has significantly bolstered peace and stability in the region.

In addition to his leadership in law enforcement, CP Morris has become a respected figure for his dedication to conflict mediation and community-based policing. Under his guidance, the Adamawa State Police Command has implemented numerous initiatives designed to prevent violence and foster understanding among diverse community groups. His proactive engagement and community-centered strategies have helped reduce tensions and mitigate the risk of conflicts escalating.

The Arewa Consultative Forum’s award is a testament to the Commissioner’s unwavering commitment to upholding the law while remaining sensitive to the needs and concerns of Adamawa’s residents. This accolade celebrates his contributions not only to Adamawa State but also to Nigeria’s broader goals of peace and security.

CP Morris, in his acceptance remarks, reaffirmed the police command’s dedication to fostering an environment of collaboration with local communities, traditional authorities, and civic groups. He emphasized that true security and justice can only be achieved through a collective commitment from all segments of society.

This recognition underscores the essential role of ethical and engaged leadership in law enforcement. The award serves as an encouragement to other officers and leaders across Nigeria to pursue excellence, transparency, and a deep-rooted dedication to the communities they serve.
